The Caterpillar 797 is a series of off-highway, ultra class, two-axle, mechanical powertrain haul trucks developed and manufactured in the United States by Caterpillar Inc. specifically for high-production mining and heavy-duty construction applications world-wide. In production since 1998, the 797 series represents Caterpillarā€™s largest, highest capacity haul trucks. The current, third-generation model, the 797F, offers one of the largest haul truck payload capacities in the world, up to 400 short tons (363 t) and is the world’s largest, highest payload capacity, mechanical drive haul truck. Although the price varies based on individual customer specifications, each 797 costs approximately USD $5,000,000.

look at the size of that thing

So now ask yourself this, would you rather wear boots made by the same guys responsible for the abovementioned truck – LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT THING! – or would you prefer that your dainty little tootsies were enveloped in a velveteen slipper that you found in a dewdrop perched on the tip of a lilly that smell like your granny’s perfume and sound like a lisp whenever you take a step?

If you chose the former then you’ll be glad to know that we’re giving away a pair of Caterpillar boots in the style of your choice.

Simply comment on this blog post, telling us why you need such tough boots, let us know what style of shoe you want (you can check out the range, here), and we’ll hook you up.

As someone with huge feet and always struggling to find decent shoes, I’d say I need a pair of proper ground stompers to accompany me on my treks through the Karoo, rivers, mountains and wherever my next adventure takes me. And I’m even happy (read over-excited) to settle for the Propane, Vinson or Endure. Any one of them will make me a very happy camper!

I need these boots for 2 reasons. Firstly because I have a 3 year old son who leaves a foots worst enemy lying all over the house…LEGO!!! Secondly because I work in construction and boots like these can make my work day so much more comfortable and safe. Mens bruiser size 9 will definitely do the trick thanks

I need these shoes….. the Loa or Midi style, due to the fact that I owned my first pair of CAT”s – 21 years ago, I begged my dad for days on end to buy them for me. he indeed did just that, and I had many a good parties in those shoes, kicked my car after being in an accident, just for my domestic worker to end up stealing them, making me a very sad girl indeed. I would also not mind the ladies safety boot as I could wear these in my line of work, and the current ones I have a disgusting!! As we all know, ladies need GOOD NAME BRANDED SHOES! Therefore I would be best suited to win this šŸ™ !! Ladies size 5, will make me a very happy lady!

  • Thohier Ganief

To be honest, I’m not going to tell lies and say I work in the mines or on a construction site. No, I’m a bookkeeper, who sits and calculate all day. But I do need a pair as I travel by train and with 1000’s of commuters in Cape Town stepping on your toes daily, it can be tough. So can I please have a pair of Colfax Mid or Evander….those are pretty stylish and good looking as well as tough and besides I can wear it with my formal clothes. Thanks!

I’m in the advertising industry in Cape Town, I need to escape from the hipstocalypse, I need to be a man that drinks Nescafe classic and use a Blackberry again, I need a pair of Caterpillar Moe’s. Please help!

  • Andrew Venter

Reason: 1. They are Stylish – I like to be stylish – 2. They are tough like you said – I am pretty tough on my footwear so I foresee that these will last longer. My Style: Parkdale, in brown if possible.

  • ricky davis

would like to see if they would last a year….tired of buying a new pair every 6 months

  • Sphamandla Mdletshe

Working with cattle is not very easy, and the rubber boots are not comfortable either. The Caterpillar bruiser mens in light brown size 7 would surely go a longway. And the balance is not questionable.

  • Ajendra Aj Goli

They last a long time I had one for yearsv

  • Alun

I simply dont have enough shoes, I only have one pair (not like my gf she has about 32 pairs) so to get a pair of mens “Bruiser” would mean i can give one pair a rest yippie for me

  • Jaco Longland

Working in a feedlot. It’s a tough environment and I need something that can last more than 6 months. They are also very stylish and I would prefer something bootlike (Rivingston, Evander, Vinson, Propane).
    Thank you.

  • Billal Ali

I truly need a pair of CATs. These walking machines is the only shoe that can satisfy my feet

  • Ben

Cat Endure will be a real valuable asset shoe to have, for working in wet environments(Cellars ) and also long working hours causing the uncomfortable feel.

  • Niel Mare

Protecter, Caterpillar all the way, the name says it all, I am fortunate to own a pair of boots and must share, in the last 12 years nothing came close and were them at least 4 times a week and are still proud to be a ambassador for the brand

  • Pieter

Between work and life a pair of CAT boots is ideal. I work in an environment where I am in the office, out in the yard, out in the field and presenting training for the extreme situations. I’m a big guy and shoes/ boots don’t last in all these different areas.
We love the outdoors and a pair of good boots is essential for camping, hiking, trail riding, off-road driving and presenting training for the outdoors.
A pair of CAT Propane boots (size 11) will do the job.

  • Gerrit Johannes Cloete

Maths and Science teacher for NPO in Northen Cape. Have a mountain to climb with a lot of weight on my shoulders. Propane 8

  • Kgaugelo Sebidi

The Cat Bruiser Boot(9) would be ideal for me. Im honesty tired of buying shoe after shoe every 6 months. I worked at Tekkie Town (Cat Stockists) as a sales person, but it us unfortunate that I am still unable to afford a Cat boot. I have a strong feeling that this boot will outlive me hehe . It’ll be part of my legacy .

  • Mark de Beer

I bought my first pair of CAT Bruiser’s back in 2001 and they still going strong, possibly the best pair of boots I’ve ever owned. I use them mostly as riding boots, being a Marshall for the Harley Owners Group they sure see their fair share of punishment when it comes to rain and handling a 350kg bike. I’m excited about the new Vinson in a size (UK) 7.
